I have been away from posting for the last few weeks due to a very tragic death to a very dear boy close to our hearts.
Daniel was my oldest son's very best childhood friend and this event took hold of our hearts deeply...
During my usual morning catch up on emails, photo editing, etc. I happened to land on Flickr on a day when they were highlighting 'wishing trees' with beautiful pictures of healing written words hanging from trees....
I was so inspired I started a 'wishing tree' in memory of our beloved Daniel for all who loved him to go to the tree and keep his spirit alive through our hopes and dreams......blowing in the wind out to the universe drifting up so they may come true.
Read more about the story here DANIEL

I'm so sorry for your lose. Loosing a friend like that is so hard when you're a kid. I hope that you all can find some sort of comfort with each other. The wishing tree is a beautiful idea. Thank you for posting about it. My grandmother is in hospice care and will die soon. I'm going to tell my family about the tree and see if we can do something similar to help us deal with the loss.

It seems to help a lot for everyone...
I am very sorry to hear about your grandmother....it is not easy to lose someone close at any age...I work in a long term care home with seniors and see the pain when a family loses a grandma or grandpa. I think it is a great way to heal.
Best wishes to you

I am so very sorry for your loss, Christina. Death is always very sad, but is especially heartbreaking when is such a young person...I can not imagine the pain his mom is feeling. Again, I'm so sorry.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and support....This child was such a wonderful soul who touched so many with his caring, funny heart...he was like a brother to my son and it does hurt to see the youth in pain.
Please send his mother good thoughts of strength as Daniel is her second son to lose...her first was Daniel's younger brother who died at 20 months of SIDS.
So very very sad.

I'm so sorry, Christina. It is hard enough to lose someone, but almost impossible to deal with when it's someone so young. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Heartfelt. In april our family experienced also the loss of the friend of my eldest son, who is 14 years old.

I wish you, your family and the family of Daniel lots of strength.
The wish tree is such a wonderful idea.

Sweet greetz!
